LongHorn Steakhouse, Starbucks and More
According to 42Freeway, three businesses have been identified so far: LongHorn Steakhouse, Starbucks and Flagship Car Wash.
But those aren’t the only commercial spaces included in the proposal.
Plans call for five commercial buildings, including an approximately 8,700-square-foot restaurant and another 2,300-square-foot drive-thru restaurant. Neither of those restaurant tenants has been publicly identified yet.
Starbucks is planned as part of an approximately 11,169-square-foot multi-tenant building, with the coffee shop expected to occupy roughly 2,000 square feet. The remaining space could eventually accommodate additional businesses.
That means this could become much more than a few new restaurants along the Black Horse Pike.
103 New Homes Are Part of the Plan
The residential portion is another significant piece of the proposed redevelopment.
Plans call for 103 residential units, consisting of 82 market-rate townhomes and 21 affordable housing units.
The affordable units would be located within two multifamily buildings.
Adding more than 100 homes alongside restaurants and retail would turn what is currently largely undeveloped property into a substantial mixed-use destination in Washington Township.

What Happens to the Former TD Bank?
Anyone familiar with this intersection will probably recognize the former TD Bank property at the corner.
That property is included in the redevelopment area.
According to 42Freeway, the development notice does not currently make clear whether the former bank building would be demolished. Industry sources cited by the publication suggested it could potentially be renovated and reused for Starbucks.
For now, however, that detail remains unconfirmed.
The larger property was also previously used for the Glow drive-thru holiday light experience.
A Major Change for the Cross Keys Area
The proposal could potentially be known as The Corner at Cross Keys, based on the LLC associated with the project.
Its location is significant.
Berlin-Cross Keys Road and the Black Horse Pike already serve as major commercial corridors through this part of Gloucester County. Adding restaurants, retail space and 103 residences would introduce another sizable concentration of development to the area.
For current homeowners and people considering a move to Washington Township, projects like this are worth watching. New housing, dining and retail options can change how residents use a neighborhood and what amenities are available nearby.
The project is still proposed, and details could change as it moves through the municipal approval and development process.
More Changes Coming to Washington Township
Between new commercial development and additional housing, Washington Township continues to see investment along some of its busiest corridors.
Exactly which businesses fill the remaining spaces at the Corner at Cross Keys could make this project even more interesting.
