Cherry Hill and Blackwood, New Jersey: Park Improvements Coming to Challenge Grove and Timber Creek

If you keep an eye on South Jersey’s parks and outdoor spaces, two Camden County projects are worth following.

The county is seeking bids for Challenge Grove Park improvements in Cherry Hill and pickleball court improvements at Timber Creek Park.

Both projects appear on the official county purchasing page, with bid openings scheduled for November 19, 2026.

What’s Planned at Challenge Grove?

The county’s public listing identifies the project as “Challenge Grove Park Improvements.”

That listing establishes that the county is seeking contractor bids. It doesn’t provide enough detail to describe particular new amenities, a construction schedule or a reopening date.

For now, it’s an early update to watch rather than a finished-project announcement.

What About Timber Creek Park?

The Timber Creek listing is more specific: it identifies pickleball court improvements.

The posted bid opening is November 19 at 11 a.m., followed by the Challenge Grove bid opening at 11:30 a.m. These are bidding milestones, rather than dates when residents can expect work to be completed.

If pickleball is part of your weekly routine, this is a project to keep on your radar as more information becomes available.

What Happens After the Bidding Stage?

A bid announcement is one step in moving a public project forward. Further updates will be needed to establish the contractor, work schedule and any effects on park access.

Before planning a visit around the improvements, check the county’s announcements for the latest details.

Why We Follow Local Park Projects

A home search is a chance to think about how you want to spend your time.

Would you use a nearby park regularly? Are outdoor recreation and places to meet friends part of your routine? Which amenities would make a difference to your week?

At The JFKLiving Team, we like helping people explore those questions. Following park projects gives residents and future buyers another way to understand what’s happening in a community.

We’ll be interested to see how these two projects progress beyond the bidding stage.
